Oil at half point on dip stick?
I think it's pretty normal. It's been discussed here before. I "used" a little oil before my first oil change, but not a drop since and I'm at 12.5k
the new 06+ si takes 5.2 qt of oil..if you put 4.6 like the manual says then after you start the car and check ur dipstick its gonna be alittle below the half mark...if you put 5.2 from the beginning then its gonna be pretty much at the top line or very close after you start the car and check your dipstick

Lucky bastard. I burned 1 qt before first oil change (4600 miles) and I've had to add another half a qt since then (6800 miles). Bleh

thats common on si's. most cars usually see 1-1.5 qts burn up within the first 5,000 miles but after that.....you shouldn't burn/lose any oil after that period.
