Engine swap, remove engine with tranny or seperate in the engine bay?
Hi guys, as the title says. Im just replacing an engine in an EG civic. Do I split the tranny from the engine whilst its in the bay (as their doesnt appear to be room to split it) or do I take it out as one lump split it then put it on the new engine and replace? This seems the textbook way, I just wanted to confirm. The engine is a D15B2
Also what are those hanging tabs referred to that bolt the engine to the hoist? I was going to use some doubled over slotted dexion or shackles and long bolts.
Thanks in advance

Take it out as a whole and then separate it. You can't drop the engine without taking out the rear tranny mount anyway.
Thanks dude
Do you know anything about the tabs im on about? Id like to see some of the places the hoist attaches to on the engine if anyone has any pics of thier swap.

You can look in this link it's got pics of a B series swap into an EG, but you can kind of get the idea. I think all you need to do is get a chain, and then a bolt that will (obviously) go through the link and thread into one of the existing pre-threaded holes in the engine.
