Default Part needed.

I wanted to post this in here as it is very Accord specific. I need a factory stereo plug cut from a 98-01 Accord. The one which plugs into the factory radio which I am sure someone has pulled and replaced with an aftermarket radio. I just need the plug and a few inches of wire on it. Also does anyone have the color code for the wires in this radio? Help me out if you can.

Thanks,
Jason

Don't need a complete harness I just need the one plug. Besides if you can find that plug or part number on that site more power to you. Thanks for the idea though.

I found the harness, it's under Accessories - Electrical at http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com, but I suppose that's not what you need...

Correct I can find the harness as well but I don't need a complete harness, Just the one plug and a few inches of wire. I am going to be pulling the factory radio and replacing it with another factory radio so I must retain the harness in the Accord. I need the plug because I am going to put the original radio in another car and I need to graft the wiring from the factory Honda plug into the harness of the other car which is (gasp!!) a Chevy.

What would be so difficult about that??? It is the same size as the factory Chevy unit. couple of quick bends and a little work with a Drill Press on the mounting brackets and it bolts right up. All I need to do is splice a couple of wires and I am done. I could go to a junkyard and spend five minutes taking out the factory radio and cutting the harness but I have no junkyards near me. I guess if I have to I will make a little drive and get one.

I think I have one at home, out of a 1998 Accord V6. Is that going to work for you?

It probably will. Was it from the standard factory radio AM/FM single CD or the AM/FM 6 disk CD unit? If so it will do the trick. Let me know if you have it and would like to get rid of it.

Thanks,

It was from the standard AM/FM single disc factory unit. I am 99% sure that I have this at home. I'll let you know, won't be until tomorrow though. Email me the address that you would want it sent to just in case.

You might be able to get the plug you need from a local stereo shop. Most shops should carry both the male and female plugs for OEM radios.
