ok i found some si wheels for a crack head price, but they have been painted. so is there anything other then paint thinner that i can use to get the paint off and not hurt the rims?

 

Aircraft remover. It wont "hurt" the rims, but it will take off the paint and possibly the clear coat. If the person before you painted them correctly (sanded, primered, paint) then the clear coat is most likely scratched to hell. If that is the case you are going to want to polish the rims or re-paint them.
