Default Stick with the 14b or go with t3/t4

I building a my first turbo kit because i do not want to buy a kit. The 14b seems like too much of a hassle because of it's flange and o2 housing and all that. Should i just sell it or trade it for a t3/t4 turbo? my goals are 210-220 whp.

is there a difference? its just the turbo. I just thought of switching to a t3/t4 not because of the power, because of the availability of parts. the 14b puts the turbo outlet towards the hood, and since i dont have a welder, it's going to be hard for me to find a down pipe and do my ic piping. Alot of used items on the market are flanged for t3/t4 turbos so i can find stuff fairly easy. i dont want more power than 220whp.

You're right, the t3/4 will be easier to work with.

It sounds like you think you're going to avoid having to pay someone for some fabrication with a t3/4 turbo - good luck with that.

If this is a small D series build, stick w/ the 14b on an HF manifold. It will be cheap and very effective. You can easily hit your goals w/ that turbo and still have quick spool.

I vote 14b
