buddy club spec III cams or spec iv
trying to figure out what spec 3 or 4 would be better to go with.
I have a B18c, 11.3 cr, itr valve springs, jdm itr ecu 9k redline.
I know the spec spec III would do alright with this setup.
But I was not sure about the spec IV. I am sure I would need Ti valve retainers and probley valve springs. I have not been able to find much info on the spec iv. Do they idle ok? Do they need more fuel? any info would be great.
also, I've seen the BC Spec III seem to reach peak HP at about 8k rpm. What do the Spec IV reach peak HP at?

go with the bc3's the 4's would be better if u had a higher comp ratio but the 3's are good for 11.0:1

Sorry to hi-jack but I'm running a B20 VTEC with 10.8 compression and all the usual bolt-on's and head work with a set of BC IV cams planning to rev to 8500 rpm. Will these be OK or do I have to change cams?
i have the BC III+ they worked good for me. if you guys are looking for a set of III+ or V specs hit up: myfirstdc2 he has some custom cams ground and guaranteed by Skunk2 themselves and they are ALOT cheaper than buying the actual Buddy Club cams. Same exact specs and everything. just thought id throw it up here to save some of you some cash if getting cams. $375 picked up and 1yr (i think) guarantee by Skunk2.

More details on this motor please, it looks like the 4s are just flat making more power all around here.

This is my old dyno sheet from about three years ago. That is on BC3+, JDM B18C, JDM ITR header, Password JDM Whale's *****, Hondata S100 tuned by Elton @ Raceline, Carsound 2.5" Highflow cat, with 2.5" mandrel piping exhaust.
I think in either case you are going to be spending more money than just new cams. Larger injectors and a programable ECU are going to be a must. If you go with the BC4 more money on springs and retainers.
Go with the BC3+, programable ECU, injectors and get it tuned.

ya, you could atleast bump it with useful information. ecu, injectors would be a waste of time and money. spec3s are buddy club entry level cams. no valve springs needed. no tunning needed. just put them in there. (kinda like getting type r cams)
