ok recently the screw came out of my rotor in my distributer and went into my ignition control moduel. since then it won't go pass 7000. there has been a couple times i have gone pass 7000 but it kinda studdered. the rpm slowed down and it wasn't smooth. i have a rs with a gsr motor swap. it has a p28 with a hondata s300. some people said they thought it was my ecu but i can change everything.i have changed the vtec just to make sure. dnot know what to do any help

 

if the scrweD in the rotor it will mess with your idel forsure and maybe wont let it go pass 7G

 

it idles perfect

 

then maybe it would cause it at highR rpms. cuz its important that the screw is there!
it will mess with your timing too

 

i put the screw back. could the timing mess up if i had to change the icm

 

if the timing was good and the srew is on then it should be fine. the rotor only goes in one way.
whats a icm??

does the car seam to hit a rev limiter or does it just have a hard time going past 7k? Studdering, bogging, etc.. How long has it been doing this? Checked ur oil recently? sometimes the cel won't come on but if ur oil gets low enough it'l have a hard time building up enough pressure.

 

um its been a couple months it hits the limiter i will check my oil

so it hits an actal rev limiter at 7k? has it always done this? yeah check ur oil, check ur ecu ground too, i had this problem once when my ecu ground was loose. Grounds let u know they're loose when u put a heavy load on them and they can't take it.
