1991 Prelude Si B21??
Hey guys. I an s2000 owner and have an 1986 Ford Ranger as a daily driver. The block cracked this weekend (I guess that is what I get after 228,XXX miles). Anyway, I am looking for something to replace it with ASAP. I was hoping for a CRX, but I stumbled upon a 91 Prelude Si with a b21. The owner said, "he had just bought the car and the the engine just blew up." He actually used the term locked up. Regardless, is the b21 easy to work on? Is it worth my trouble? Can the motor be rebuilt for $350? Thanks in advance.
quiet frankly, i have a b21 91 prelude as well... you'd be better off buying a JDM b20 and puttin that in, which costs roughly 500-800 for the motor. the b21 has FRM *i think* walls which makes it burn oil like a bitch, which isn't worth it in the long run really.
i had a 91 lude with the b21. it was a torquey lil bitch, but it burned oil like hell. im talking a quart every 2 or 3 days. it still ran like a champ, redlined at 6800 i beleive, cant remember. i loved that car, and for some reason loved that motor. had my headgasket, and t belt changed before i sold it. which seemed to really help. so all in all b21 not too bad. i loved her.

...i love mine...
