Default LS Rod Dimensions vs. c1/c5 Rods

By dimensions, I'm talking about neck thickness and overall thickness.

Next set of mods is B16 P30 Pistons with ARP Rod bolts, and head studs.

I want to rev nice and high to take advantage of 11:1 CR and my cams.
How do LS Rods compare to ITR/GSR rods? How much stronger are ITR/GSR rods to be able to Rev to 8200rpm with the same margin of safety as used on the LS to rev to 6900rpm? Any chance they're the same?

Just looking for the margin of safety of revving to XXX rpms with my stock Rods w/ APR bolts on my B18B. Or is the labour involved in changing out Rod bolts, suggest just changing the rods for stronger ones. The stress won't be from high horsepower (Looking for 200whp+), just from the RPMs I decide to go with.

Thanks

The ls rods are to wide at the crank end to fit a gsr or itr crank. They are also concidered to be weaker. They are also shorter than gsr/itr rods.Itr or gsr rods with stock bolts will work for most na applications.

Is there any theoretical rule to go by for max Revs on LS Rods? or LS Rods w/ ARP bolts....for a given power output?

the small end of the LS rod is wider than that of a GSR/ITR which would lead me to believe it is stronger on the small end if anything. I'm guessing they are made of the same materials/processes. correct me if i am wrong. i wasnt standing there when they were made.
i went 9300 RPM on the LS rods with arp fasteners all last season with no failure. i woudlnt hesitate to do it again as well. be sure to rebuild the big end once you install the rod bolts. your local machinist should be able to handle it.

Honda may have made the b18c rods with a stronger alloy to compensate for their being thinner on the big end and having to endure higher RPM, but the RPM issue seems mostly addressed by better bolts. AFAIK, both rods are forged by the same process.

the b18c crank is said to have a higher chromium content than the ls crank, which itself has been proven very reliable >9KRPM.
