97 SH: Overheating/ boiling over and osculating idle
Hey everyone,
Well, last night i was out getting come Mickie D's and i noticed that on the way home, my temp guage had steadily crept to about 3/4. Now, for the last 2 weeks or so ive noticed that there's been a little liquid near the left front tire. I didn't really think much of it since it was just a little bit of liquid, and not everyday.
My spidey senses that there must be some pressure leak in the cooling system, which would account for the overheating/flowing and osculating idle.
The car has about 135k on it.
Does anyone else have any thoughts? They would be much appreciated.

Are your radiator fans kicking on? You can test this by turning the AC on or by passing the relay and run a wire from the battery to the fans. Also check your thermostat by putting it in a pot of water on the stove with a thermometer, im not shure about hondas but nissans tend to open about 178 degrees.
But, if it over heats real bad (boiling) one or more times you may have blown your head gasket. The head warps and thus causes you to loose compression, transfer of oil-coolant and burning of oil-coolant in the combustion chamber.
Id check your oil for coolant and your coolant for oil and even get a leak down compression test done. Since you say the idle is osculating then you might have a blown HG.
If so:
Get your head milled
Buy a new HG
Timing belt if you havent done it yet +100K miles (optinal)
Water Pump if you havent done it yet +100K miles (optional
Good Luck
