CRX or hatch/sedan? If it's a hatch/sedan, you can drop the front bumper and reach up to get it open manually. I'm pretty sure the CRX bumper has screws holding it to the radiator support that the hood covers.
i had a similar problem when my hood cable/latch was seize. i just took my front bumper off and went from there and tried to open it since taking off the bumper made it easier to get to the latch and cable
hope that helps

Just sit tight, somebody will probably have some advice. Did you try searching yet? There was a thread about the same thing in here a few months ago.

Take that bumper off man ... One of my buddies had this exact same problem ... someone tried to steal his ride, popped the cable, he yanked the bumper off and in like 5 minutes had his hood popped ... Don't know what he did exactly, but I'd bet taking that bumper off and messin around to get it open would probably solve this ...

i dont know how will i take the bumper off if theres 4 screw driver sscrews beneath the hood and the hood wont pop .... man ... lol im going crazy ....
You don't have to take those screws off that he is mentioning. Those screws just release the bumper from the bumper support. All you need to do is pull the bumper. The sedan/hatch has the filler that bolts to the radiator support but the crx does not, so you are in the clear

i know the answer to this!!! the other techs are right but lemme tell you the answer in full.... you know when the hood is up and on the hood it has a spring well on the rad support it has something that triggars to release the spring.... now go under the car pull out the bottom peice of the bumper enough so you can see the latch.....the cable is suppose to be on that triggar but since yours isnt try pulling it the direction the cable would have someone hold down the hood or the hood will not release...it should work i know the same thing happen to me it took me five minutes to figure it out then twenty seconds to get it done.......i wish i had some photos but my camera doesnt work goood luck bro!!

hey this happened to me what u have to do is take a really long flat head screw driver and stick ur arm up under the bumper to the hood pin and juss unscrew it itll be hard as hell but eventually itll come loose once u get it out i reccomend taking the entire latch assembly off cleaning it lubing it and then reconnecting every its a pain in the *** but it worked for me
your an idot for saying that POOPER have you read the description...lemme tell you. he stated that someone has tried to steal his car by pulling on the hood release cable...and then he said that it has come out of place making the cable non functional!! so explain to me how he is suppose to open the hood without the cable in its proper place?? i gave him some tips and pictures, if you had a crx you'd know...
Remove your signal lights. Under each light there will be 2 bolts, remove them. There are some screws located under the fender wells reinforcing the bumper, remove them. Your bumper will come off with the support. Undo your latch. Done.
My bumber is off already i just need to hook up the wire to the latch and i need to know where the ball would attach to the latch.
