Hey guys, im going to be putting my ls block together in 2 weeks but im just wondering about the compression level.
I am running a oversize ls block with type R girdle. balanced rotating assbly. oversize ctr pistons and rings. and stock ls rods. it will be mated to a ported b16 head running skunk2 pro2 sticks. i have heard many peoples estimates on compression. usually ranges from 12.4-13.1. does anyone have a accurate answer to this? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it really matter? It's going to be a stretch on 93...and I wouldn't run it on anything but a minimum of 96, if you have unleader cam2 (100) in your area to mix some 93 with. Compression doesn't make power.

yeah i know compression dosent make power... however im trying to guage which kind of cams to get that will work with the bottom end setup that i am running. i have 94pump where i am and if i get the right cams with enough exh. overlap and a good tune i should be ok. however thats not what i was asking. my question was what comp. will i be running with this setup. compression does make power to a point...

You could have made the same if not more power on this setup using a piston with less weight/less dome.

indeed, however i got a fantastic deal on the ctr's that i couldnt pass up. you dont have an estimate on what you think the compression would be?

What you quoted above is where I'd guess. It's all a guess unless you actually cc everything yourself.

I am scared for you man. I heard about the nightmare tuning session for the speedfactor car with ctr slugs (either a type r or lsvtec build) that has major detonation issues
. That car had smaller cams though (ITR), you might have less issues with the big pro 2s. As for the compression, no one agrees whether the c-speed or the other one (zeal? cant remember the name) are accurate.
You should have done your 2.6 stroker h22 man, that was sooooo close to completion. Good luck though, my pro 1 integra just got a rebuild and should be getting its first start-up in the next hour or so

nice dude, the reason the itr cams did not work is cause they didnt have any exh. overlap. same with the pro1's/ regardless. im thinking that i may run a thicker headgasket to bump the comp down a couple of points! oh, we just got the ITR that i put together running in devons car yesterday night. gonna be killer fast i believe.
