GSR Block BORED TO 81.5mm, 95mm crank, custom piston rods, wiseco pistons 11.5 comp.... and ported gsr head. when we finally put everything on something hit when it was turned on. the platnium +4 spark plugs were dent, the valved and the head was good.

CYLINDER 1 AND 4 ARE LOOSE, THEY MOVE SIDE TO SIDE. AND THEY HAD OIL ON THEM??? WHAT DO YOU GUYZ THINK IT IS. DO YOU GUYZ THINK IS THE RING SEALS???? OH AND ALSO THE SPARK PLUGS WERE CHANGE TO DENSO SPARK PLUGS AND THEY DID NOT HIT....

my mechanic triple checked the clearance and said it doesnt hit with the denso spark plugs. he cranked it by had multiple times and besides piston 1 and 4 being wigglely everything is fine. DO YOU GUYS THINK IT CAN BE THE PISTONS RINGS??

thats something you should have checked when you were putting it together. you should have clayed it.

im just gettin into the honda all motor build how do u "clay a motor". I understand the concept but I would like to know what to use and how to exactly do it.

 

what rods?

 

they are "custom" he doesnt know.

 

gsr rods with 95 stroke perhaps

 

that might be the issue there. but id go LS rods 95 stroke, custom compression height piston. then again hes new to all motor hondas, he wouldnt know.

 

well my friend is the one building the engine for me, and i had bouught the bottom block with 95mm cranck and custom rods with wiseco pistons and they had told me that it was set up already, i dont know much about building an engine and i guese my friend doesnt know either now that this **** happen.....

 

should have done some research, i am by no means an engine builder or a great mechanic, but with the help of many of these guys on HT i just completed my own build by myself and some machine work of course, but now my motor runs great and the month of research and work has payed off.

 

run away from your friend the faster the better...

 

I feel like the search police but... use the search. Claying the motor has been described a number of times. And there are 100s of posts with different builds and what works and doesn't work... so just spend a few hours searching the forum and then you will be all set.

all right thanks for the help guys. now i have to go tomorrow to my friends house to see the engine taken apart to see what got mest up. hopefully not a lot..... im going to pray a lot tonight!!!!

 

dont think u messed something up.... most likely is some shitty clearance somewhere.

 

hopefully your right, but in the under hand he said the spark plugs were dent, so im thinking something else go mest up also

 

if he used KR6 plugs they usually get dented in high comp all motor applications, even thou u most likely got 2cc pistons, and more if its a weird combination and even more with most likely mismatched parts in the rotating assembly.

 

something about this worries me lol maybe its the fact that the owner doesnt really know anything about the motor hes trying to build. something tells me his pistons are up out of the hole because he used the wrong rods and or pistons for the crank. 1.check ur valves when u pull the motor apart. 2.check ALL of your clearences. 3. check ALL of your clearances AGAIN. someone definitly messed up somewhere.

what do you mean the cylinders move.

 

the cylinder 1 and 4 move side to side a little and 3 and 4 are stiff

 

Do you mean the actual cylinder moves or the pistons?
