Default What cd changer compatible with oem 98 civic ex changer?

Wondering if there are any aftermarket cd changers that can plug in with my 98 civic ex audio system.

Also, are there any other honda or acura cd changers that could work in my car?

Whenever I put the cd magazine in it automatically ejects the magazine.

Thanks.

Any Honda/Acura changer with 8pin din plug will work, It is an Alpine changer, [8pin din plug] but an adapter is needed for the Alpine changer. 94

Type of adapter will depend on HUs input, 8pin din or 14pin data. 94

Where can I get this adapter? Will any alpine cd changer work with these adapters? Where do I find this hus input that's 8 or 14pin?

Is it AI-NET or mini-bus type?

if your headunit does not have the changer controls on the radio it will not control the changer. I know a older alpine will plug into a factory radio. I did one about 6 years ago. Not sure the model on it. But I bet they don't make it anymore so your going to have to buy a adapter

lol, yes mine does have a cd changer control, as I currently have a cd changer, that doesn't work.

Are you guys talking about the kca-130b adapter?

I just read on crutchfield.com that the factory keyless entry and alarm system is part of the radio and that I need to keep that plugged in to the car even if I install a in dash cd player. Anybody got a link on what needs to stay plugged in?

The R/F section is built in, unless you *** an aftermarket alarm you will have to leave the OEM HU plugged in.

So to avoid the left right phasing being off, what alpine decks will work? Or will only the oem honda 6 disc changers work?

Without an adapter only the OEM changer will work properly.

If your stock HU has the 8pin changer din plug on the back then it is a very simple adapter, [Alpine style female 8pin din plug on one end and OEM Honda 8pin din plug on the other end, and the older style Alpine changer will work.
You can also just buy the Honda style 8pin din plug at Radio Shack, this is a Honda style 8pin din plug... http://cgi.ebay.com/8-Pin-DIN-...wItem [the Alpine 8pin din plug is a 270 degree plug] cut the Alpine plug off the cord and install the Honda style plug, reversing the left signal and and signal ground pin positions.

If however your HU has the 14pin changer plug on the back, the adapter is more complicated, [more expensive] but then you can get one for probably just about any brand of changer.

So the first thing to do is pull the HU and see which changer plug you have. 94
