ok i was wounding about those chips u can get off of ebay, that r like $20. puts ur rev at 8200rpms or something. I'm thinking that they r a load of crap, and that they would just screw up ur engine. am i right? or can they really get a little power out of my F22 vtec?

A guy i know bought one and it was literally a wire going in then a transistor and a wire going out.
Don't buy those things. They will do more damage then good.

ya those things are like a resistor in a box. do not get them. all they do is dump a crap load of fuel in the engine and makes car run like crap

 

letme correct this,
1)no it will not increase your revs
2) It doesnt damage your engine
3) yes its a waste of money
4)and it doesnt make your motor run like crap.
just by a resistor at radio shack and connect it to your iat temp sensor, is the same mod but $20 cheaper. It does make your car run like how it runs in the winter, depending where u are, reason, as the temp decreases iat sensor resistence increases, having a reisistor sets it to a constent cold temp giving you the winter like feeling of your car, does burn more gas however.
Ohh yah if the resistor is out of specs of iat sensor cel will go off and go back to default foolproof no damage
