I recently got my car painted and some overspray got onto my ASR subframe brace (Maaco, what do you expect?).



What would be the best way/technique to remove this, and get it back to looking good?

take it off
sand it
400 grit and work ur way up to a polish

 

or take it off, make sure there's no rubber/plastic on it, then spray it with bumper stripper. let it set for 5 minutes and wash it off with a hose.

 

How about run down to the paint store and get some paint REDUCER it will remove the paint no problem....Then just get you some mothers and polish back to a shine

 

brake cleaner + rag. It's anodized isn't it?

 

over spray on aluminum. . You could probally even get that off with a mild or fine steel wool. or a bit of thinner and polish it after. I have no idea why you would sand that with 400 like someone said its not fully painted its over spray

 

Do not sand it with 400 grit... that would take off it's protective coating and raw aluminum will oxidize and get a white coating/film on it in no time. Just get some thinner or reducer and it showed come off with some elbow grease.

dip a rag in paint thinner and wipe it off!

 

^^ wot he said. Dampen the rag and wipe. You'll be suprised.
