easy question for someone who has a car or some parts (which i don't right now) in front of them.
on an 88/89 "seatbelts in the pillar" car, what size are all the bolts that hold the belts to the car?they use a 17mm, according to my manual, but i need the size and thread pitch.
the two that hold the belt on at the top and bottom.

yeah, i'm pretty sure they are the same.
i think that they are 11 x 1.25, but since that is a wacky size i don't have a tap to check. i was hoping someone had one lying around, or knew from doing a seatbelt conversion.

yeah i was also wondering the same thing since i will be doing the conversion also. what i did was just went to my local hardware store and just tried a whole bunch of different sizes until i found one to fit. sorry but i dont really remember what pitch and thread it was
they use a kind of odd-size bolt so that hopefully you wont use anything but the bolts that are meant to hold them in. Try a junkyard to see if you can source the right bolts, as honda only sells them as part of the whole seatbelt unit.
Don't f around with seatbelts(or their mounting bolts), theyre the only thing between your face and that windshield.

Bolts are graded for a reason, but for simplicity's sake that's just what I ended up doing. I cut the weld-nuts out of a couple junked cars and welded them in with some reinforcing plates. I don't have any pics here, (car is being painted) but anyone considering doing this should have a look at the sectional differences between the b-pillars in each car (sawzall), and then make sure they reinforce what they are doing.
i still think they are m11x1.25, but I don't have any tap or die in that size to confirm.
