every time i turn on my car it screams really loud till it revs up high enough n then it stops. is this cuz i need to change my timibelt???
find a 2-3 foot long narrow tube (1inch and a half PVC pipe works great) put it to your ear and wave the other end (keeping away from moving components ofcourse) and listen to where the screaming is the strongest. This will point you to the right location where its directly comming from.
I'd say accessory belt also. Even dizzy bearing screams if all carb'ed up. Could be a leak even in Intake Manifold between gasket and block. My car screamed with the intake leak (two bolts on one side were loose). So you just have to try to isolate exactly where its comming from. Hopefully its not the timing belt though

the timing belt will not squeal like that. it is ribbed and rides on teeth.
Try to reproduce it by turning the wheel really fast at idle and maybe revving it as you turn it. also try idling, revving, then turning the a/c on, then revving. You should be able to isolate the squeal.

My car did that too (only for 1-2 seconds). I recently had all belts replaced. I think after a little wear in, they may loosen up a bit. I tightned the access. belt and fixed the problem fine. (only 2 bolts to tighten i think)

yeah, good point.
Just have to put each belt under extra load and which ever one screams is the one that is failing.
