ok so im about to purchase a b18c tomorrow so i can have it around as a spare block. does anyone kno wat kind of rating it has hp wise? and since it is jdm does that mean that its a jdm type R? i always thought that there were no jdm gsr?

ok so the jdm B18C is equivalent to the US spec type R then? pickin it up for $150 from a buddy of mine, shortblock i dont think its too shabby wat do u guys think? i already have an LS Vtec in my car right now with no problems so it was just gonna be a back up block.

huh???? for just the price on the block i was assuming its a good price, especially when he told me that he was gonna post it craigs. so i had to jump on it
oh yea he also said i could pick up the whole longblock for 375. would it be better to pick that up intsead? cuz right now in my LS-V im runnin a b16 head.

b18c itr, imo i dont think gsr is that special

oh

btw b20vtec ftw (for me, i hlped my bro did a stock b20b 99 b16a head with bolt on's, ran a 12.8 on his crx with full interior/wings west kit on slicks dynoed at 191/157)

The ITR is over-priced. If this is just a drop in and go engine, go for the Hype Arrr I guess, but you can build a GSR to make more horsepower with the difference in cost of the two longblocks.

cause it made the car heavy, poly all around, and the car still broke 12s with it on.

The pistons say P72, that's a JDM GSR block.

There are a lot of boosted GSR motors in the drag scene here, Most people are running 400-500 hp max on stock blocks with a good tune with no problems for fairly long terms before rebuilds.
I would love to get my hands on one to build up for that purpose.

I say drop a k series tsx or type S or K20r and call it a day. get some nice springs and shocks header and kpro tune. maybe cut the frame and lose 200 lbs and you can beat a lambo.

what is wrong with cali I have had a swap tsx for about 3 years now. Nothing wrong..expect stolen once.

u have a K in ur EF? naw its cuz i live about 5-6 blocks from cop station. and there after gettin my last crx stolen i dont wanna dump that much money into my ride untill i get a garage where i can keep it. but dont get me wrong i would love to have that swap in my crx.

The block looks to be in good shape. I would get a new set of bearings, fresh hone, rings, and itr replica pistons or better yet wiseco 11.5:1.
