Some direction...
All right, here's another sad tale of woe from a niave soul who got wrangled into buying heap of s#*t with nothing but issue after issue. So far, I have systematically gone through alot of the issues and have had them resolved. The '86 Honda Accord LX (P.o.S.) has now come down with another fun set of issues to test my patience. Maybe someone could shed some light on it.
Here are the symptoms...
The car runs fine cold, idles fine, revs fine. But after running for a while, it overheats tremendously. Won't stay running at an idle and when braking, the oil light flickers. When it stalls, it cranks very slow until it cools down, then fires up to run very 'choppy'. Thinking it might have something to do with the cooling system, I replaced the water pump, because that's the one thing I haven't replaced in the cooling system, ie. thermostat, radiator etc. I also notice smoke coming from the front of the engine near the valve cover, not a lot, but enough. I can't make out if it's an exaust leak, or something far more sinister(head gasket?) If it indeed were the head gasket, would the car still run?
Some advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to send it the crusher.

what about hoses? because one of mine just ripped a nice hole in it.
and it would be a good idea to replace the radiator and thermostat just to be on the safeside. good luck
