Since I got my car over a year ago, it's been making this strange kinda of scraping sound from the bottom front end area when you try to accelerate really hard.

I took it to my usual performance shop today and had them evalutate what it could be. They drove it around for a while and inspected the engine bay and said that my water pump needs replacting.

Does this sound right? Has this happened to anyone else?

notice it in every gear? does it happen only in acceleration or if your in neutral and rev?...........have you popped your hood and revved your engine by physically moving the throttle with your hand to better pin point the sound?

we need a better description then a weird noise and a shop said this or that......most shop advice has no credibility to us

is it scrapping or in fact rattling(which would make me think heat shields)....whining/grinding----->tranny
