Default WTF is going on here

so after i go threw all my trouble shooting :ie, fuel spark timing and compression

and so i thought my ecu was bad but i pull the carpet down and look at my ecu, the key just happens to be on and i see it blinking really fast then a pause so i turn the key off and then back on and i get 8 flashes and then 16 flashes

my car being a obd-0 dual point d15b1 with the a6 head

i thought my ecu was too retarded to give off codes ???

but when looking up the codes 8 is topdead center sensor
and 16 is injectors

so my question is where the hell is the topdead sensor
and i have already changed injectors and there still giving off a code
what the hell do i do to get my car running

help please
my car has been down for 2 weeks now and riding the bus is mad gay

thanks h-t members

what ecu are you running? I know the top dead center sensor is in the distributor but i thought that was only for the mpfi so that the ecu knows when each piston is at top dead center? Maybe somebody else can clarify this. Also have you tried disconnecting the battery, waiting about a minute, and then connecting it again (this will reset your ecu and any codes it has)?
