Why does my caR die?
Question guys:
When I drive my caR, it drives smooth, idles well, everything that it should. Most of the time, there are no problems.
BUT, on occasion, when I come to a stop (after 5 minutes of driving, or 5 hours) the car will idle down, then die. And then I restart it like nothing. And it idles great. Next stop, idle down, and die. WTF? It doesn't do it all the time, and it doesn't ever do it when the A/C is on. Due to the fact that the A/C puts a load on my engine, that is why I figure it doesn't die.
If I try to tap the throttle to keep it running, it kinda "chokes" out the intake, and still dies anyway. I'm thinking it dies because of the light flywheel. Any opinions? The idle isn't irratic either. It idles perfect. Not high or anything. I thought about vacuum leaks, but that would affect my idle.

hmmm this is a toughy. I would try pulling your spark plugs start with the cheap ones. Sounds like a spark problem but I think it might be a dizzy issue. You know anyone you can swap dizzies with a seeif that makes a difference?
That is funny cause I having the same problem. Mines does it at least once or twice a week. With A/C on or off. When the RPMS start dropping I hit the gas and it will pick back up. Most likely thinking of the flyweel to.
yeah, mine is weird. And of course, it never does it at random stop signs in the middle of no where. No, it has to do it at busy intersections on red lights. And it NEVER does it while the car is still moving. Even with clutch in and revs all the way down. It only does it once the car has pulled to a complete stop.
I do have a couple other dizzy's I can try. I'll pull the one off my Si and try it. I guess a tune up is in order as well, I'll replace the plugs and wires.
I wonder... could it be the intake system? When the car is moving it gets air, but when it stops it can't get any? Hmmmm....

true, true, but I don't really know where else to look. You know? I tried a different ECU and I still got the same problem.
I'm gonna throw my Hondata in there, and give it a higher idle. For now, that's all I can think of.
