Default starter bolts

is there any place other than a honda dealership to get ne bolts for the starter? cause those bolts are crazy expensive (14 dollars a piece). can i just buy them at honda depot or something? thanks

you could get them at home depot just make sure they are the right thread pitch and length when you get them. just dont buy some low grade bolts.

You will mostly likely not be able to buy them at most hardware stores because the bolts are fine pitch.

You must really have a sh*tty Honda dealer near you. The bolts that bolt the starter to the transmission housing run $0.84 and $1.70 each on http://www.slhondaparts.com. At your local Honda dealer, they should still be less than $4 for both.

Are you talking about different bolts? Even the bolts that attach the starter motor to the starter are $5.20 each, so I'm not quite sure where you're getting $14 each. Those bolts might be $14 for the pair at the dealer, but not each.

yeah its not the best honda dealership and yeah i need the ones that bolt the starter to the transmission housing. and im mor then sure that he told me 14 for each. i saw the screen. maby he did get the wrong ones i mean the starter motor to the stater? im gonna go clearify everything right now. thanks for the link

im looking at the diagram right now



arent the bolts that bolt the starter to the transmission the ones circled in red? cause i thought they were and those were the bolts i orderd cause i remember them being decently long? and your were right it was 14 for both of them. just called and checked. should i call and change the bolt order that i need? thanks!

The bolts you ordered are the bolts that hold the motor to the starter.

For the bolts that attach the starter to the transmission housing, you want #16 and #23 here:

thanks man im gonna run over to the dealership right now and tell them to oder the right bolts. thanks.

since were on the subjects of bolts i cant seem to find the diagram for it on the site.
the other bolts i need is that hold the halfshaft to the block. there are three of them. i ordered them too but im sure im probably got the wrong ones for that too. could u post up a diagram of that so i can show them at the dealership to make sure its the right ones, thanks a lot for the help man. i appriciate it!

Are the people at the dealership complete and utter idiots? They should know what bolts you need.

You need two of #14 and one of #15.


I'd suggest you go to a Honda dealer where the parts guys know what the hell they're doing.

ok yeah we picked the right bolts for that atleast. but yeah the guys there dont know ****!
