starter bolts
is there any place other than a honda dealership to get ne bolts for the starter? cause those bolts are crazy expensive (14 dollars a piece). can i just buy them at honda depot or something? thanks
you could get them at home depot just make sure they are the right thread pitch and length when you get them. just dont buy some low grade bolts.
You will mostly likely not be able to buy them at most hardware stores because the bolts are fine pitch.
You must really have a sh*tty Honda dealer near you. The bolts that bolt the starter to the transmission housing run $0.84 and $1.70 each on http://www.slhondaparts.com. At your local Honda dealer, they should still be less than $4 for both.
Are you talking about different bolts? Even the bolts that attach the starter motor to the starter are $5.20 each, so I'm not quite sure where you're getting $14 each. Those bolts might be $14 for the pair at the dealer, but not each.

The bolts you ordered are the bolts that hold the motor to the starter.
For the bolts that attach the starter to the transmission housing, you want #16 and #23 here:

Are the people at the dealership complete and utter idiots? They should know what bolts you need.
You need two of #14 and one of #15.

I'd suggest you go to a Honda dealer where the parts guys know what the hell they're doing.
