Last night at Irwindale speedway on my first run, I did my burn out and then the car just shut off after I let of the gas. We pushed it back to the trailer and it had no spark, so I pulled the cap off and pieces fell out, the igniter just fell apart as if it had exploded.

Has anyone else experiance something like this before, we put in another one and I got to make a pass last night; everthing seemed fine after that?

 

i burned up 3 on my old obd0 distributer. no explosions though.

I replaced countless ignitors, but never ones that fell to pieces.

 

mines just burnt and had to be replaced after a hard run. no explosion of parts though.

 

what car was this in? I was there and didnt see this happen.

 

It was in a red integra with l&t stickers on it, all I did was my burn out then it just shut off. I havent had the problem since but I have only ran it twice after that. I was just curious if it had happened to anyone else. Im there almost every week with it.
