my buddie has a D15B in his EF hatch. He just dynod it at Speed Merchant and hit 125 @ 6500rpm. it has pep boys intake and midas exhaust. Is this motor VTEC? What car does it come out of? just seeing if anyone knows somthing bout it.

 

well if it just says d15b on it then it's the jdm motor rated at 130hp....it's a sohc vtec motor....but if it says d15b7(or whatever # designation) then it's the usdm motor at 102hp, sohc non vtec.....

 

it just says D15B. I just talked to the guy and he said he cant find a VTEC selonide and when he drives it he doesnt feel or hear vtec.

 

well he's not going to hear or notice a difference really with a sohc....but if it says d15b then it's the jdm spec vtec sohc....especially if it dynoed at 125hp! if he looks the the left rear of his head he should see a solenoid....like behind the distributor.....

 

I've got a D15B in my Civic VX hatch. It's the VTEC-E motor because right after I got my car, the motor blew so the guy bought the motor and put it in, and that's what I got.
