knocking or rumbling
My '03 Civic hybrid makes a knocking or rumbling sound when taking off from a standing stop. This noise/sound only lasts for a second. The noise seems to be coming from the right front wheel area. If excelerating lightly, the noise/rumble is slight. If excelerating harder, the noise/rumble is louder and more pronounced.
Any ideas?

Not a vibration per say. Makes the sound as if you were driving over a rumble strip, just a quick second as you start rolling from a stop.
The vehicle, which is an auto has 42K miles and is out of warranty.
Someone had mentioned that possisbly a CV joint was the problem.

your car has a cvt trans which has a start clutch in it i have seen a lot of them go bad it only happens when leaving a light for about 1-3 sec and goes away like nothing ever happened until the next light, like a momentary judder below 15 mph from a stop covered 7 year 100,000 miles just call and ask a dealership if i am wrong sorry
