Default ARP rod bolts?? Strengthen LS/VTEC????

So basically I have a 92 Integra with a b18c1 head. She's my daily and I baby the **** out of the car. So to say the least I want the engine to be safe. I tuned the ecu to 7k revlimit, which is close to the stock ls. So I'm not getting the full potential out of the vtec.

I asked on another forum what the best way to get the ls block to rev close to the b18c1 rev limit without worries. I was planning on throwing some eagle rods and low compression je pistons for when I boost in the future. The problem with that is i'm rolling with a college students finances and since it's my daily I don't have the time to have it not running(I do all the work to the car myself). But they told me they just put arp rod bolts since thats were the weak point on the ls block, and they have been reving to 8k for a few years without problems.

Can anyone verify this for me?? And also how much of a problem is it to change these bolts. I have a small leak at my oil pan so I want to change the gasket and probably retap the oil pan since some freak at the shop the first owners took it to stripped it, although the bolt goes in now it leaks. And while I have that off I would like to change the bolts

Thanks in advanced

to change out the rod bolts is to do a tear down of the bottom end.

you cannot change rod bolts on your own unless you have a hydrualic press and honing machine in your garage

if you have never tore a motor down then take the whole thing out and take your time. if you have worked on motors before you can take the head off and the oil pan, windagetray and just take the rods out from the top. either way u need to have them pressed in and resized

you might just be better off getting a set of eagles or scats or something that come with the arp bolts. for the money youd spend getting it to fit in the oe rods its just not worth it. then of course while its out you can get some 11.5:1 pistons lol.

you can change out rod bolts with the motor assembled in the car, its just a bitch. We do it quite often.
