I got my car smogged and I didn't pass. I failed HC(ppm) at 15mph. I went over 7 points. The max was 92 and I had a 99. What could be the problem that could cause this? Need help ASAP

 

could be that you need change oil, before you go smog, because if your oil is going bad then, it might have seeped into combustion chamber and the exhaust gases are carrying it out with other hc that already in there. that might be the problem. it worked for me and its just a thought for you.

7 HC is little to fail by. you can change the spark plugs and it should go down or lower your timing 1 degree. run 91 gas.

How are your plugs/wires/cap/rotor? Have you checked your o2 sensor?
