Car won't start????
Was curious to ask you guys on what you think what could be the reason my car finally died.
Specs on the motor:
Motor:B18c5 stock head and block. All ITR Internals.Miles 227,+++"yes all original miles"Stock intake and comptech header. VAFC controller
Tranny:JDM ITR Tranny 4.78 with cusco LSD
Ok the story:
I was driving home from work when i was coming to a stop light, turning right. I down shifted to 3rd and i let go of the clutch and give it gas and the car jerks very little then dies, without any noise. Before it died, it never gave me any warning (no check engine light/Car ran and sounded fine)
As i came to a safe area to stop, i turned the key and it barely catched and ran for a .1 sec and shut right off. Then i try it again and it sounds like it wants to start but no grab. I took off the starter and had it tested and it's fine. I checked the spark plugs and they smell and look ok. I changed my timing belt and water pump not to long ago as well.
I recently just changed the oil and spark plugs.
You guys think it could be my distributor? It's never been changed.

find out what you are loosing spark, fuel pressure, injector pulse or a combo of. Untill you know what is gone you will just be guessing, but sounds like coil or igniter to me
I checked the spark plugs while waiting for the tow truck..They looked fine and wires are ok. I just changed them 3weeks ago along with the oil and filter.
But the clutch still feels the same. The flywheel is a Fidanza. I'll have to look into that.

It's in the dizzy. There are a couple main components...
Cap, rotor, Igniter. Those 3 you can replace...
The cam sensor is the one you can't. You'd need a whole new dizzy if it were that.

It's probably the ignition coil. I had the same problem in my old Civic.

If you didn't touch the ignitor in your diagnosis and you had changed cap/rotor it was either the Ignitor or the Cam sensor.
Glad to hear it worked out.

Or since he never told us if he inspected the dist, the rotor screw may have backed out.
