Default skunk2 cam gears installed, car runs then dies

so a mech i know installed some skunk2 cam gears in, he set the them at 0/0. so i went to start the car, it starts, then dies a few seconds later...i looked on the skunk2 site, it says 1.5/2.0...i just want to get it running to get it to a dyno...i have a vafc but not installed yet....are they hard to adjust? any tips will be help full...thanks..

If the cam timing is set to stock, it should run just fine. Have you verified that the cam timing is set to stock? Is the timing belt installed correctly?

the mech said it was....he said the timing was just off thats why it was dying....

Not unless the cam gears were machined incorrectly. If they were at 0 on the intake and exhaust, the car should run fine. I'm betting the install a fubar.
