I've only seen custom ones.

With other kind of hoods and mounts, you don't really need one for clearance, if that's what you are thinking.

Now if it's for looks, well... that's your thing but imo it doesn't look right on a Honda.

You can prop your own hood up a little for the same effect with some washers. Lots of All motor peeps re route the intake up to the cowl when they do that as well.

Thats awesome. Have you fitted a panel over it yet? I'd be interested to see how it looks in the end.

the only cowl hoods I have seen were made by GUDE but their mold was destroyed and they no longer make them

anyone know where you can just buy the "cowl"?
basically the bump part in cases where the motor doesn't fit and you need to fab up a way to cover the motor..

get another stoch hood and do some cutting and bending and a bit of welding and just make your own if you cant find one. id probly just make a bump to cover the valve cover, or just leave it open and not drive or park it in thee rain. or you could just get the sweet sir style hood from vis that is supposed to clear all swapped motors on ef's. (that is they do when u use hasport mounts)

K20, and i refuse to pay $400+ for a sir carbon fiber hood.
I just picked up an extra crx hood and a mustang hood. kinda sounds funny but the mustang hood has a bubble shape to it, and i am gonna see how it turns out fabbing the 2 together. otherwise what have you found for a scoop?

i don't know how good you are with metal work but would the bump in a 3rd gen eclipse hood be wide enough, then you could bend and splice in a center section for your length just an idea, also try stock car suppliers for a pre made cowl

The mustang cowl on a crx looks mean as hell. Check out this thread from K20.org on it. It's about half way down the page:

i actually got a used fiberimages siR hood. (we're talking like $150 not $400) and the k20a fits underneath with no cutting or any fab at all.

but then i went off and bought twm itb's and they wouldnt fit, so i bought a hood scoop. its very very small. but i think it still looks good.

excuse the crappy pictures....

no way.... the WRX scoop is HUGGGE. this thing is really really small.

yes, i cut into the fiber images hood. i had to to expose the ITB's. but if you're running a k20 with the regular intake manifold, it fits without cutting.

that's harsh.

honestly, i wish i would have kept the OEM manifold... the car would have looked a little more mellow. and i could run a direct port a little easier. hehehehee
