I was with Progressive and I was paying around $70 a month for South Carolina coverage.

I switched to USAA and it went down to about $65/month for South Carolina coverage.

I moved to Japan so my home residence just changed. I now have to have insurance out of Connecticut. I did that two days ago and my insurance is an even $55.00 a month.

No tickets, 24 years old. Can't wait for the big change at age 25

USAA. $700 every 6 months. 22, one speeding ticket, one at fault accident. I pay it in 4 payments, so its $175 a month. In February my ticket and accident will drop off, and I'll have 3 years clean, so I'll be getting a decent drop then. I think the ticket and accident account for $135 of my $700, so I am hoping for around $525-550 after that.

God I can't wait for 25.

eluam, that is a pretty big spread between you and me. Yes your 2 years younger, and you have one speeding ticket, but it shouldn't be that much different (Although its still an awesome rate). I saw your car was stolen in 06... did you claim that?

A lot of companies don't really have the big premium drop at 25 anymore; something worth asking about on a per case basis. For where I work, the #1 factor we consider when initially determining premiums is your occupation and credit score if we can pull it (we don't pull credit in CA). Underwriting will pull your driving record later on; one can lie about their record when applying in the beginning but the policy is subject to cancellation or adjustment later down the road if you get caught.

Yea, I figured one of the biggest factors would be your credit score.

Yeah, I did claim that. I had a loan on it, so I had to claim it to pay the loan off. I think whats killing me is the ticket and the accident were less than a month apart. I can afford it, so its not a biggie, but I can't wait for it to get cheaper.

I've been with USAA for 6 years now. 5.5 under my dad's policy, and .5 under my own now, so that helps. Neither my dad nor I have had any late paymentsI'm getting like $500 in discounts every 6 months. USAA has been really good to me so far, I recommend them to anyone who is elidgible. The awesome thing is if I add my other car onto the policy as a daily driver, my rate only goes up $35 a month, and thats for full coverage on both cars. Right now I don't need a daily, since my R has that duty.

Jesus, when I replaced my 07 Si with the Type R, my insurance rate went up $80/month. I was pretty pissed when I heard that!

I'm with USAA, and married over 25. I have a "driving with expired tags" ticket, and my wife has an "85 in 55 workzone <---ouch!) and we pay this:

$334 full coverage 250 detuctable on '07 CRV
$357 full coverage 250 detuctable on '00 Si
$547 full coverage 250 detuctable on '01 ITR

$1239 per 6 months.

Really quick, anyone with USAA, ever had an incident with your ITR? I'm always worried that if anything happens to it I'm gonna get waaaay hosed. I hope not. They did me good on my old civic though. '93 Civic EX coupe with fresh paint and they gave me 6200 and let me keep the car. (total loss on the car, salvaged motor and interior) So they did me good on that.

I also forgot to mention, that I have FULL coverage. I have all the highest settings for coverage, and almost the lowest deductibles. I could go a little lower on the deductibles, but that'd add another $100 to my policy.
