Default alarm/cd deck for 08 accord

debating between an 08 accord ex-l w/o navi (a/t) or an 08 civic ex-l w/o navi (a/t)... seems like im leaning more towards the accord, but depends what it actually looks like first.

just wondering if its possible to install aftermarket alarm and cd deck? hate stock ones.

You can put an alarm into anything.

However, you'll have better luck putting an aftermarket deck into the Civic, because no one (that I know of) has a kit for the new Accord's (yet), considering the '08's aren't out.

It's relatively easy to put a deck into a new Civic... You can either buy the Navi dash bezel and radio mounts, and ISO mount your new deck, or buy the approrpriate dash kit from Scosche or Metra or Bestkits...

i remember asking a bestbuy installer abt installing an alarm system on a crv before. he said bc there is the anti-theft immobilizer, he would need to install an additional part for the alarm to work. would this be the same case for the accord? i would really need the engine start.

i was thinking of buying the cd deck bezel from honda for the opening, and getting an aftermarket deck from outside. is honda's cd deck bezel the same one used for the navi? haven't decided if i would go for the accord or civic yet, all depends on the cost of the accord. if accord, i might wait for a bezel to become available and swap.

Alarm and remote start are totally different functions, but most of the time integrated into one unit. You do not need a bypass module for an alarm, but you will need one for remote start.

The CD bezel is not the same for the navi unit. The basic Civic dash just has a cd load slot and the rest is buttons and *****. The nav dash has a double-din cutout.
