what to do to hit 13's within the next month????
Here's my situation. I've been saving up some money for a while. But it's hard for me to get anything done cause i need my car everyday for school and work. My mom is leaving for a month so i want to do as much work as possible while she's gone because i can use her car while mine is in the shop. I have a 92 lx 4 dr civic with a jspec b18c with LSD. I have every bolt on except pullies and a manifold. I have about 2500 bucks. I would like to stay all motor and be in the 13's but remember i'm a 4 dr. What can i do with that kinda money to be in the 13's. Here's pics of my car. I'm gonna change the rims and tires for some 16in rota's so don't mention that.
i don't like nitrous. I think i'm gonna stay all motor. Just need some advice. I'm thinking about working the head and reving to about 9 grand. Then again maybe make it a 1.9 for some torque. I have so many options but don't know the advantages and disadvantages of each. I forgot to say this a daily driver and has to be very reliable
i need someone to give me some advice on what to do. Right now i should be in the mid 14's hopefully with everything i have. I'm ready for 13's but i just don't know how to get there

making it rev higher doesn't nessisarly mean it will be faster..
it depends where the peak power is.. usually the powerband goes down once you go to really high rpm doesn't it?

Take power sterring out(at least unhook the belt). Looks gutted, so I recommend traction(slicks?,drag radials?). I know you don't want nitrous, but its the cheapest way to run fast

My recommendation again... Golden Eagle sleaves bored to 84mm, Eagle rods, JE 12.1:1 pistons ( or 12.5:1 if local octane permits), balance reciprocating mass, micropolish crank, ACL bearings (mains, thrust, rod), new seals. Once you have that bottom end, aggresive cams and new valvetrain will take to it like a duck in water.

Hey man are you sure you dont want to do this:?
I know you want to go all motor, but, this is just another option for you

I know it's gonna get flamed, but a jrsc would put you there. And it would be very reliable, and you can put it on youself in a day or so. My boys stock jrsc'd si ran 13.89. The gsr makes more power, so I could see you definetly getting 13's. Good luck dude.
buy my TURBO KIT but u wont be in the 13's cause ull be in the 12's but if not
clutch, flywheel, CTR cams, cam gears, vtec controller, run open header....
i have clutch, ITR cams, and a field vtec con....

Get some P73-00 Pistons, a nice set of stage 2 or even 3 (or some cheaper itr/ctr) cams and a vafc, and use slicks.
I already have a Mugen clutch with exceddy flywheel, and i already have a vafc. My limit is 2500. If i build the head can i be in the 13's. When i say build the head i mean port and polish, valve job, cams, retainers, and springs. Or i can build the bottom end and make it a 1.9. I'm also intereseted in a stroker kit but don't know much about them. Remember i'm a 4 dr so i'm a little bit heavier. If i get a larger displacement won't i get torque which is good for a 4 dr
Have you thought about doin and LSD and the final driv? That could also improve on traction and gearing.
You can get your head ported, polished, and rebuilt for around $1000. Throw in some cams for aroung $600-700. Then get some CTR pistons for $500. That's $2500 even but you'll need a little extra for gaskets and seals once you have the engine open.
Get rid of the intake manifold. The GSR's IM is horrid. Do this, then get skunk2 cams and valvetrain upgrade. Get it tuned and you'll be in the hiiigh 13's.
my mechnic told me to port the head, portflow springs, mugen retainers, don't know which cams, mugen headgasket, and change all the other gaksets since the head is already off. Then later on build the bottom end. But for now will this atleast get me in the 13's. Remember stock my motor has 180 hp cause it's a jspec and I already have LSD. i would like to go turbo but it's a lot of money plus i can't afford to fix something every month if i go with a turbo
Step #1- go to Moroso and see what you run. All this guessing isn't gonna help if you don't know how close/far you are from your target right now. After you remove every peice of the interior you can make due without, hit the engine bay and do the same. PS, A/C and every other dead weight etc, remove it (assuming you're going all out). I bet with that right there you'll be in the low 14's no problem. I'm assuming the B18C is stock internally? A Skunk2 IM, a set of CTR's or Toda Bs would complement your motor nicley, and if you've got the ability, go with a set of CTR pistons too which with a P72 head will yield a high CR (something like 11.2:1), that along witht he cams and manifold should have you breathing pretty heavy.
would i be better off if i save a little longer for a turbo kit. Would if be worth the wait. I just want reliable cause it's a daily driver
