Default Sparco EVO xl (3) seat in crx or car in general?

hey everyone, im in the market for a racing seat. Ive come to realize sparco makes a damn comfy, reliable and high quality seat. Ive been looking at the evo, evo 2, and evo xl or evo 3

i am 6'5 243lbs in a crx.. hahahaha i know

im really looking for someone my size with the seat in a crx, if theres someone out there, thats golden, but even some info on the seat would be sweet. (the evo 3 that is)

does it fit the true 38-42 inch waist? how does it feel etc.

INFO Y0, thx ht

You need the Evo 2 or perhaps Evo L. Don't think you need or want the Evo 3 (which I believe is not an FIA homologated unit).

I have weighed as much as you (but shorter) at one or two points and those seats fit fine. I'm about 210-215 right now and those are what we're using in the new Civic build (If I lost too much more weight would need to get a new seat probably).

Biggest issue in CRX is head room. You'll need to mount it pretty close to the floor (basically on it), especially with your height.

Yep Evo2/L will fit you best. Now, will that fit in a CRX? I'm not sure. I have no idea of the width at the shoulders of that seat, or what a CRX can accomodate.

The EVO XL is what you need. You may have to alter the door panels to allow room for the upper bolsters though. I had to alter the door panels on my ITR.

Evo L will definitely work for you

also Corbeau FX1 Wide is about half the price. Not FIA approved however. very comfy though. have driven 6 hours in it before non stop.

I bought the EVO L's from UPRacing and sent them back. I unpacked one, and sat in it before installation. They were too narrow. If you are fairly wide and have broad shoulders you will need the XL's. I doubt you will be happy with the L's, I wasn't. I'm 6'2" 210 lbs. The distinction is the width of your torso and shoulders; if you are just heavy, the L's will probably be ok.

See, I know two other guys that are 6'4" and 225lbs, both fit the EvoL great.

At 6'5", you will have a very difficult time with head room when mounting a side-mount Sparco into a CRX. I'm 5'11" and my helmet touched the headliner of my CRX Si with a Sparco Circuit mounted on custom-fabricated brackets that bolted right up to the stock holes in the floor. The Circuit's seat cushion was a little thick, but even without it the seat still sat higher than I wanted it.

To get it low enough, you will probably have to find some way to either mount it to roll bar/cage appendages, or to reinforce the floor pan and mount it directly to the floor (this involves cutting out the floor crossmembers, so no returning to a stock seat).

The EVO XL's upper bolsters are so wide I had to modify the doors. I could not use the Sparco sliders, (my helmet touched the headliner) so the standard Sparco seat brackets were used.

Yea, I see your seat is pretty far back. I couldn't go that route due to the roll bar design. Is that a custom cage with the NASCAR bars, etc.?
