can you get a pic of it? The only think I can think of of the top of my head would be the knock sensor or oil pressure sensor..

It could be the VTEC solenoid, temperature sender, starter solenoid, tach signal (for under hood hook up), oil pressure, knock sensor, etc.... none of which are usually located near the brake master cylinder. Perhaps it goes to a switch for the clutch, brake light, or brake fluid level sensor? Maybe it's a motion sensor or ignition cutout that used to hook up to an alarm system?

Finest has a good idea, check the wire color and see if that helps identify it.

Ok I'll check the color at lunch. It was all covered up in tape.

I'm not saying it goes near the master, all I am saying is that where it currently is.

Ok single pin connector that is a green wire with yellow stripe. And it is coming out of the big harness that in behind and under the intake manifold that goes over to where the water pump is...

Single, green/yellow wire is most definitely a VTEC solenoid wire. Are you using the JDM wire harness?

The harness from the ecu thru the firewall is my usdm h23. The engine harness came with my jdm swap. Ok so that would explain why my vtec isn't working... But I swear the vtec solenoid is plugged in...

It's best to use the H23 wire harness. Then you'll only need to add a few wires for VTEC. If you're lucky like me, the VTEC solenoid wire is already there by the passenger side, near the strut tower. There's a single wire going to a connector that isn't plugged into anything.

Check to see where that wire from the VTEC solenoid is coming from? Also, check the color of that wire, it might be for something else.

See thats the thing, we wired VTEC ourselves, so its seperate from the harness str8 to the ecu...

If you wired them straight to the ECU pin connectors, then you can leave that other one loose since it isn't going anywhere.

JDM wiring harness = RHD.

That still doesn't make sense though. It would still have to be on the proper side of the engine...

I just went through my entire Helms manual and the only grn/yellow wire connector is the VTEC solenoid connector. Like I said, if you're using the JDM wiring harness, remember that the chassis harness comes out from their passenger side, which is the driver's side for us. The VTEC solenoid is obviously located at the same spot on the engine, but the wiring needs to go all the way over to (our) driver's side to connect to (their) chassis harness. That connector you have open is probably the extension to connect to the RHD chassis harness. Does it look the male connector at the VTEC solenoid?

lets get this straight....you were able to get the jdm harness to fit up to everything in your car without modifying it (except this one pin)?

That seems like a stretch to me....

It's coming off a big harness, on the side right by the water pump. And the harness that came with the engine I guess could not be "jdm". It just came with the swap, so I assumed.

That's why I asked if he actually used the JDM wiring harness. You could probably get away with un-doing all the plastic looming and stretch the wires to where it's needed, but even eyeballing the JDM harness looked pretty difficult.
