Default unpinning ECU plug help!

im either retarded or this **** is tricky... im starting to do the MPFI swap on a 88 dx... but i cant get the damned wires on the black (smaller) ECU plugs unpinned.. the larger white/clear plug is no problem

is there some sorta trick to this or a special Honda tool? i get that the top and bottom row of wires are depinned from a central hole on the plug thats in the middle of each "stack" of wires.. i just cant get the damn things to come loose

any suggestions?

thanks!
