Default Another new potential buyer...

I've narrowed my choices down and the Civic Si Sedan is one of them.

It's a great package and fits my needs very well. I do have some concerns about some of the "quality" issues. How bad are the 3rd gear issues and front suspension noise issues? Have these concerns been addressed by now? Seems like the rev-hang has been cured.

I'd hate to have these problems ruin an otherwise great experience.

Thanks!

Rev hang isn't cured, but people are just getting used to it. Suspension noises i think have a dealer fix now. 3rd gear crappiness isnt going away, has been in Kseries 6spds even before this car existed.

i also love my si sedan. but the front end noises are getting more noticeable. not even 2000 miles on it. when i drive over surfaces that arent super smooth theirs a knock, sometimes from driver side some times from passenger???

I've had my si sedan for all of 3 days, but I absolutely love it. It's an extremely well rounded, affordable, practical, and most important in my book - fun to drive.

OK so rev-hang is a issue/non-issue that was "cured" after 06 and one either gets used to it or not.
3rd gear grind is "normal".
Is there a specific VIN that the suspension is affecting?
Does anyone know how to decipher the VIN?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but every time I grind 3rd gear, it's my fault. The throw is sort of long, but more importantly it seems to take 'two' clicks to get it into gear. Sometimes I feel like I'm in gear and I release the clutch and it grinds, and then I realize I still have to engage it a bit more. I'm sure this is how it is for a LOT of othrs, most just won't own up to it.

Rev hang is a pain in the ***, it makes driving this car VERY difficult if you're going for overall finesse/smoothness during shifts. Livable though.

No noise coming from my suspension.. my interior rattles like crazy though. Personally, I would be more worried about 2nd gear. I find it very odd to shift into 2nd gear at ~8k RPMs without it grinding, even with the clutch down to the floorboard.
