Due to some shitty circumstances, i had to carry 4 other people in my hatch last night for about an hour ride. and when they were in teh car with my, i was hearing some really wierd rubbing/grinding sound coming from my back wheels..

i wanted to know how much weight can stock shocks take @ stock height, before the whels rub the fender? cause that is what i'm assuming was happening..

have any of you guys had or seen that problem before

 

it really depends on waht condition your stock shocks/springs are. If they are really old and weak they might sink that low. Check your tires for any slashes or marks, if you find any that go all the way around the tire then it was rubbing on your fenders, if not then it wasnt and it was probly something else makin the noise.

 

I've had 6 people in my car at once for a short period of time, back end was draggin and I'd have to go super easy around corners or the fender liners would rub the tire and make a loud squeal. It also would squeal with one fat person or two regular people back there if I took any turns too quick. That's without any extra weight in back either, no spare... my tires were too wide for the offset of the rims.

I've also had 3 people and 3 BMX bikes in my car at the same time, but one of the people was my gf's little brother who fit between the bikes in the back and the ashtray/middle area.

 

Oh yeah, I had an EH at the time. No car right now

 

no people, but eight 15" wheels with tires plus few other goodies....

 

4 big guys...never had any problem with it...I try to take it easy with others in my car

 

5 rats, 4 chickens, 3 fat girls, 2 aliens and a donkey. Yeah it was a strange night, luckily I cant remember what happened so I cant tell you if I was scraping or not.

i have me, my mom, my grandmother, and my girlfriend all in my car on skunkworks and factory shocks. no rubbing with 14"s, and it was slammed.

 

I had 9 people including myself in my VX a long time ago. We only had to drive for 7 blocks to get some pizza and it was nuts. Everyone was too lazy to walk and I never wanted to make more than 1 trip

 

I've had 11 people in my stock 93 cx with 13" steelies and stock shocks(original equipment from 93) when i first got it to see what it would look like lowered...3 of the guys were 300+ pounds. Needless to say it was dumped.....

 

the most i got was seven 4 girls 3 guys my friend had an accident i had 2 pick every1 up that ride was funny as hell

in my old EG i had 4 guys in the damn car..........it was slow as hell never happened again

 

Once had like 9 people in my old CRX... couple in the passenger seat, and a pile in the back!

 

I got...9 (including driver) in my little hatchie... Funny ****!

Driver's seat: me
Passenger's seat: 2 guys
Backseat: 1 guy, 3 girls
Trunk (whatever you call that space - lol): 2 guys curled up

You think your car is slow with like 4 or 5 people, but 9....OWNED

if it was rubbing i'm pretty sure that u would have smelled something like burning rubber

 

most ive had is 7 (did that a few times in highschool)
me driving 2 in the pass seat and 4 in the backseat with the hatch packed with bags/backpacks/junk/sub box

the worst ive had though was 5 people, 3 snowboards, and a hatch full of bags/backpacks/junk


this is all with a ~2" drop in an ef hatch (ef = less clearance than eg)
the snowboard trip was the worst cuz this girl's explorer broke down so we had to pack everything in my civic and then it was like a one hour drive each way on terrible roads

 

I know my Civic is not hatch and it is coupe.. OK one time My gf and I went to bowling with her friends.. OK after bowling game, I have to drop her friends off at her house.. OK there is 4 girls, one little cousin, and me were in my Civic.. Boy it is very very low on my Civic with 17 inch Racing Hart bronze rims.. I lower my Civic 4 inch drop with full coilover.. THere is nothing wrong with it and I didnt here the scrape or rubbing.. My car look like 5 inch drop with 6 people in the car... LoL...

 

u mean to tell me neither of u 2 guys were in the backseat with the 5 girls?? OMG lol jk
