Default 2000 civic em1 si muffler

hey guys, just got my em1 a few months ago, its still got the stock exhaust on it... i dont have the cash to buy a full exhaust and i dont want to tamper with the cat right now... but if i were to just put on a muffler exhaust tip what would i need... any excess piping? what inlet would it have to be? a 2inch?... any suggestions of what i should do.. i need somthing not too loud and not too expensive... i commute to college in this car...

sorry for the noob question, new to em1

Buy some universal canister and have some muffler shop put it on, they can utilize your stock axleback piping. They can put one on in like under an hour for about $50.

Pretty much
Should any extra piping be needed, any muffler shop is more than prepared, it wouldnt be much tho.

Just get an axle back muffler (non midpipe), which includes the arm on the muffler for direct bolt-on.

[edit] And yes, they make one for 96-00 civic coupes. I had it on for a week and gave it back to my friend.

Where have you found just axle-back sections?
I faintly remember seeing 5zigens "fireball" series one for $350, just the axleback part.

To be quite honest, I really don't know who sells them anymore. eBay, the king of auto parts, is the place to look, especially for old, rare, ricey, jdm, and everything parts. I had this exhuast to try over 3 years ago.

Try there...
