Sisters car got hit ,over 7500 in damages to 07 CR-V *PICS*
My sister got her car pretty banged up. The repairs are over 7500 from 1 local shop, I want her to get a brand new one since her CR-V has only 6k miles on it. The guy at the repair shop said "it's not possible" because the car is worth about 20k. The accident is not her fault. Can she get a new car through the insurance because of the accident and she won't feel that safe cus it's been in an accident that's not her fault? She's fine btw.

Thx!

She does have full coverage, and the accident is not her fault. Can she get a new one based on the fact that it's practically a brand new car prior to the accident?

Honestly if she bitches enough to the insurance company and goes up the corporate ladder, they will total it.

Same thing happen to my bro with his new car, the damages were around 6k. His car was around 20k too at that time.
He didn't get a new car, they just paid for the repairs. Even though he complained about it being new and that the accident wasn't even his fault.

Looks like the airbags didn't deploy. That looks like a solid hit for no airbags
What about frame damage?
Can you tell us the circumstances of the accident?

$7500 is not anywhere near a total on a '07 CR-V. They won't "get her a new one" period. If they do total it they will give her a check for the current value of the car. If she did not have gap insurance then it will be less money than the cost of a new one.

I called the body shop and they said it's a unibody and there werent any damages to it. But this autoshop is affiliated to my sisters insurance company, so i dont know how much i can trust his words.

lol are you serious? It doesnt even look bad. 7k in damages to a 20k car isnt even a big deal. They will definitly fix that. If she wants a new car, looks like its time to sell that one once she gets it back and buy another.
besides, the car is going to be exactly the same as before she wrecked it, as long as she takes it to a good shop, so who cares.

every large body shop is affiliated with insurance companies these days. It's actually a good thing, you can trust them more. When body shops repeatedly do fast work and quality work with few customer complaints, an insurance company will start sending them more and more work and become affiliated with them.
Just look at your sisters estimate from the shop. Did they have time to set up and measure the frame? They wouldn't let an unsafe car out on the road, it would be a potential for a huge lawsuit.

Yeah thats not going to get totaled. Most definetely will be repaired. Only thing you can really try and do is get diminished value but you will have to bitch alot for that.
