electrical problems

yea my friends 98 ex coupe has a weird thing that when he presses the brakes, the reverse lights light up, what can be causing that?

make sure that when he changed the bulbs he didn't switch the reverse lights and the brake lights.

other than that, wiring problem of some kind.
