Default Accord trannys...

Could someone make a list offf the different trannys the accord uses from 90-01? Where do the gears end at mph wise? For instance:
1st-xxmph 2nd-xxmph and so on. Thanks

5th gen EX Coupe:

1st - 35 mph (give or take a few)
2nd - 60 mph
3rd - 90 mph
4th - 110 mph
5th - 140 mph+

so...if someone had a large enough turbo...where would 5th gear end?...i mean what is the maximum speed you can go in the accord...? my guess would be 170 maybe?

It would end when you hit rev limiter or fuel cut off.

many people say 112mph is the top speed if you have a hondata there is no top speed limiter in the software so it would be where the engine could no longer overcome the drag on the car

my guess is that since 4th on the auto is about 3K for 70mph and if you could get up to 6K that would be 140ish or so

I believe that top speed would be in 4th gear on the manual since it would take a LOT of power to reach terminal velocity in 5th more than 300+hp???? (a guess)

I calculated it at 162mph with the stock redline.

94-97, though I can't speak for the 97 because it's OBDII and that may change some specs.

Uh, no, I've hit 125+ in my Accord with only intake and exhaust. It was still accelerating too, albeit slowly.

uhh 125 is not terminal velocity in an accord........... someone asked what the top speed in top gear was...... a sho has waayyy more hp and it cannot reach top speed in 5th it actually reaches top speed in 4th gear (147 for a '89 all newer ones are governed at 139mph)

same for the corvette top speed comes in on 5th not 6th

No, it's not. It sounded like you meant that the fastest an Accord can go was in 4th gear, was just saying that's false. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

well if you have enough power then top speed would come in 5th gear but in reality most cars cannot get there in top gear

Dodge Viper or a Lingerfield vette can though
