any advatages or would it be easier going with a p28 and a harness for my y7/y8 vtec head swap instead of wiring a knock sensor and iacv wires using a p2p?

conversion harness + chipped p28 is your best bet

i have a y7 y8 with a virgin P28 + conversion harness and it runs perfect.
