Default D-Series OBX LSD. How to tell if my tranny has 40 mm bearing?

I was going to get an OBX LSD for my 1991 Si tranny.

How am I to tell if my transmission has the necessary 40 mm bearing? Is it strictly a year thing or can I pull the tranny and tell?

If it's a Si, it has the big bearing. IIRC, Si and EX are the only big bearing ones; and it applies for all of the D-series transmission.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Casting code on the tranny

PL3/6000 or 3000 or 9000 or B000

or just take a pic with the axle out and I can tell

Also ALL 88-91 Si trannys are 40mm from the factory. Quaife is the ones who screwed up that bit of info when messing with a D16A6 EF EX tranny, 4.058 FD and 35mm small bearing diff.

could you clear something up for me. I just recently installed obx lsd to my crx si 90. the issue is the oil leaks just a bit on the axle joining the tranny. Any suggestions.

it's been proven that they are strong diffs......that are about a third of the price of a quaife

good to know Bone, i was under the impression that 88 was small bearing and 89-up was the larger 40mm.
