Default The D17

Hello EP civic owners. I was wondering if the D17 had any deceny at all? I know the SI has the K20. But I was wondering if there were any all motor setups for the D17? I know you can boost em, but looking for something more on the daily driving side.

terrible terrible terrible advice, why can you not make d17's all motor?

Yes they can be all motor, is it worth it? No not really unless you get into a lot of machining.

Hey retard how much power do you think you could get of a all motor d17. and the amount of money you will spend to get it above 110 hp could give you a small turbo set up. So once again you can not make a d17 all motor. It might end up louder but just as ******* slow.

I think you could get an all motor D17 to 170whp with some machining.

You however didnt say "dont do it its not worth the time and money" you said YOU CANNOT go all motor wit ha d17. false information, so instead of trying to be an asshat, proof-read what you type.

If a d17 cannot be all motor, than what is it when it comes from factory? a fake all motor car?

When I think about putting money into a car I think about the out come. I would assume every one does, so I guess I was thinking people would realize that by me saying no it can not be all motor, they knew I was saying it can not be a all motor in the sense of performance. Now that I cleared that up for the mongoloids, I hope you all understand, that a d17 will never give you the power to money spent ratio your looking for. And I dont think a d17 could get to 170 on motor, I could always be wrong.

any type of NA mod at all on hondas dont give back the same performance return as a turbo setup so its all in personal opinion if the return was worth it

as for the d17 hitting 170whp NA, even with machining, i think it will be pretty hard, if not impossible. i mean, b16's barely hit that whp...lets not even mention torque

im pretty sure however though, 140whp is more likely in the realm of a NA D17. Kpro all the way

i'd figure if someone wanted to go N/a with a d17 it be something like

stage 3 cams
vs&r
bored out to 1.9L
12:1 compression
k-pro
custom itbs
2" ID custom catless exhaust
custom exhaust headers or dc shorty (i hear thos are best bang for headers)

etc

I was thinking about doing a D17 just to see what you can really get. Im not looking to be pushing 600 HP because I don't want to race a car that Im going to have the rest of my life but I was thinking maybe doing the engine with the parts off dezod inless I can get better? With Turbo setup and everything that I can do to the max, I would be happy with 300 - 350 HP. I know thats possible because the one guy built a motor like that on here (wasn't the VTEC) and looks like he used his non-vtech head with just normal machine work and got about 300HP so thats good with me.

I just want enough power to take most of the people around my town. Besides if I want speed all I have to do is wait for Saturday to roll around and go to the dirt track with my street stock and never get in trouble....well at least no with the law...maybe just a wall. lol

An all motor build for the D17 would be alot of money going into very little whp gain comparative to the same money going into a better engine power plant.

Actually Turbo for daily driving is actually more reliable that a full build all motor setup. There is a big misconception about turbo setups not being reliable for daily driving. With proper tuning and quality parts and installation a turbo setup is very reliable.

1. There isn't any EP owners in this forum, try the RSX (DC5) / Civic Si (EP3) forum.
2. There's really no "cheap" way to go all-motor. It'd be costly, time consuming, and wouldn't ever yield respectable numbers. And, even if you'd like to go N/A tune, it will most definitely not be daily drivable.
3. Search, as this has been covered before.
