Default Finally...

Okay, first off, this is my first post to Honda-Tech so I am a noob. Anyways, I bought my 91 CRX Si almost three years ago...At the time I was 16 and didn't even have my license but I bought the car in plans to build it. It needed some body work, and I work at an auto body so I did most of the body work and it just needed to be painted. Then some other things came up and I needed to buy a daily driver, and then my daily driver **** the bed and I had to put money into that to get it going again, and then I slowly lost interest in the CRX project. Since that daily, I have bought 5 or 6 cars and two projects (Both VW's ). Anyways, I am starting to do the CRX all over again and completely changing everything from the ground up and I need to ask you guys for your opinions.

Everybody I seem to talk to HATES the idea of an H22 swap. They all claim that the motor is too heavy. I'm a Volkswagen enthusiast so I'm not to knowledgeable about the Honda scene. All I know is that the H22 stock has some pretty impressive numbers. But my boy, who is a Honda enthusiast (EG coupe, b20 block, ls head, turbo, etc.) is telling me to go with an LS swap. I know somebody that has a COMPLETE LS swap for $1,800 with 90,000 miles on it. I can also get an already built Type R head for around $800. What would you guys recommend I do for the swap, I'm not trying to spend more then $2,000 on the swap because I will need money for block work, head work, and turbo, etc.

Another quick question, how much does a CRX weigh from the factory?
Thanks for the help

There is absolutely nothing wrong with an H swap, Its just the B fanbois that hate on it. Besides, its only 30 pounds heavier than a b16 swap, transmision and all.

Funny cuz when I was telling my boy and he was hating on the H swap, I asked him, I said what does the swap weighm 30-40 pounds more? And besides its a 2.2 liter so thats just easier to get more power out of...I think I might just go with the LS swap though cuz it's available right now and I'd have to do some searching around for the H series. Idk yet though, nothing is edged in stone...I might even just say FTW and go with a F20 swap

You need to talk whoever is selling that swap down some if that's where you're going. $1800 for an LS with 90K on it is pretty ridiculous. Unless it comes with everything.

it comes with motor, tranny, axles, ecu, wiring, motor mounts, shift linkage, and all the legit papers...but im not gonna go with the ls swap anyways cuz its an ob2 with a hydrualic tranny which is just gonna be to much work...i was told to go with an easier swap or something different which would be more practical
