im pretty sure the starter for any of these transmissions will work

S1/J1/Y1/A1/YS1

it NEEDS to work & it needs to look like the one above. i have tried mounting an LS starter and it doesnt mount. as far as i can tell an older b16 starter works fine as it does bolt on.
