OKay so I need a new harness. They say mine is butchered and damaged. I founs one out of an 91 Civic SI for 100 bucks. Will this work? Can I just buy a wire harness that will match my motor(JDM d15b w/p28) or should I actually buy the Original harness and have it converted? Thanks in advance

 

yes, it will work, but u need the whole harness. there will be a little extra wiring from the middle toward the back, as the hatch is around 3in longer than the crx. also u will need the ecu and possible the ditributor, the plugs are the same but will most likley through codes. its been a long time since i had an ef, but i believe there are variations in the harnesses between 88-89-90 and 90-91 are the same. hope this helps

 

if you mean the engine harness, the 91 Si is not the same as the 88 Si - at the driver's side firewall connector, the 91 has a round 8-wire connector and the 88 has a square 6-wire connector - the 91 harness has a connector for the Fast Idle Control Valve - 88 Si didn't have a Fast Idle Control Valve - you could re-pin the driver's side connector and make it work

 

Okay well The current harness was modified for a FICV since the motor is jdmd15b with a p28 ECU. The shop told me that they could have the harness sent of to rywire to have modified. Then im sure they would make it plug right in. I just dont want to have to buy a harness from the dealership and get raped. Does anyone forsee any problems with having it sent to rywire and what not?
